About the Position
The Stock Controller manages the receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of aircraft parts, tools and materials in our warehouse. The role supports maintenance operations by ensuring accurate stock, compliance with aviation regulations, and safe handling of hazardous items.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Inspection: Unload shipments, check for damage, verify accuracy against purchase orders and SACAA regulations, and report discrepancies.
- Inventory Management: Store items following FIFO, conduct cycle counts and full inventories, and keep 99 % accuracy by reconciling with the system.
- Order Fulfilment & Picking: Pick, pack and prepare orders for maintenance teams or line stations, correctly label hazardous material shipments following DG rules.
- Shipping & Dispatch: Coordinate outbound logistics, prepare export and customs paperwork, and track shipments.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow HSE protocols, use PPE, manage spills and support audits.
- Record Keeping: Update inventory software, generate stock reports, and provide trend information for procurement.
- Team Collaboration: Train new staff, maintain a tidy warehouse and communicate with maintenance, procurement and vendors.
Requirements
- Attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical fitness to lift heavy items, stand for long periods and work in varying temperatures.
- Organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written English communication; Afrikaans is a plus.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Committed to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Reliable and punctual.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate (English, Maths, Accounting).
- Diploma or Certificate in Warehousing, Logistics or Supply Chain Management (preferred).
- At least 2 years of warehouse experience, ideally in aviation, manufacturing or logistics.
- Experience with aircraft parts and hazardous goods is advantageous.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough stock audits.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations such as SACAA Part 145 and safety rules for hazardous goods.
