About the role
We are looking for an Assistant Boiler operator to support our production team in Paarl. You will work with the Service Technician to keep boilers running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure enough coal in the bunker for the current and next shift.
- Commission the boiler correctly before use.
- Maintain a steady supply of steam to the production line.
- Anticipate and prevent possible deficiencies in the steam‑generation process.
- Follow all safety and work‑practice guidelines.
- Perform routine checks according to procedural check sheets.
- Monitor steam pressure so production is not lost.
- Work well as part of a motivated, well‑trained team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 (matric).
- Experience in a workshop, maintenance or engineering environment.
- Experience with boilers is a plus.
- Quick to learn and train.
- Willing to work overtime on short notice.
- Good general health.
