About the Role

The Fieldworker will support ongoing research projects at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital by collecting, managing and reporting data in accordance with study protocols. Key responsibilities include:

  • Mapping and identifying clinics for recruitment
  • Maintaining positive relationships with local clinic staff
  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating study visits
  • Collecting data accurately and completing case report forms
  • Uploading data into REDCap or other research systems
  • Communicating regularly with the study coordinator and principal investigator
  • Providing written reports as requested
  • Transporting staff, documents and materials to and from local clinics
  • Assisting the research team with ad‑hoc tasks as needed
  • Maintaining proper filing of study documents

Required Qualifications

  • Matric certificate
  • Academic Advance Good Clinical Practice Certificate (preferred)
  • Moderate computer proficiency; comfortable with MS Office
  • Valid driver’s licence (manual vehicle preferred)

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in clinical or research settings
  • At least 1 year of driving experience
  • At least 1 year of research data collection experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, demanding environment

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Team‑player attitude
  • Fluency in local languages (preferred)
  • Knowledge of PDP and GCP practices (advantageous)
