About the Role
The Customer Assistant will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service at the store. You will provide accurate information, resolve queries and ensure every customer leaves satisfied. The position involves welcoming customers, handling the cash desk, managing returns and refunds, and supporting loyalty programme activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and act as a host/hostess to all visitors.
- Offer clear information on products and services through multiple channels.
- Resolve customer queries and advise on store processes.
- Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
- Manage the cash desk, process orders, exchanges and refunds.
- Run the loyalty programme and update customer records.
- Handle goods returned, liaise with relevant departments, and issue cash back.
- Record all transactions accurately.
- Minimise complaints and wait times; maintain high service speed.
- Follow till policies, internal control procedures and compliance standards.
- Support overall store operations to enhance service quality.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants should possess the following:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Grade 12 or equivalent educational background.
- Customer‑focused, professional, empathetic and friendly.
- Experience in retail merchandising (preferred) and customer service.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Team player who is self‑confident, hardworking and leads by example.
- Desire to serve with passion and enthusiasm.
- Curiosity, initiative, and ability to multi‑task.
- Proficiency in English.
