Job Summary
The Service Operations Coordinator trainee will work with our South Africa Service Centre to manage daily service activities, coordinate with field engineers, and ensure exceptional customer service across South and East Africa. This role offers a hands‑on experience in service management, logistics, quality control, and customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate service center activities to deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Track service jobs, provide status updates, and safeguard job priority and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with field service engineers, external providers, and internal stakeholders to schedule work and resolve issues.
- Manage engineers’ daily work schedules, optimize resources and travel, and balance workload.
- Support preparation of complex non‑standard quotations for field service to meet company targets.
- Monitor order backlog, credit queries, and ensure timely invoicing.
- Assist with warehouse and logistics responsibilities when required.
- Conduct pre‑mobilization safety checks with customers following global standards.
- Track special tools, certifications, work permits, and vaccinations.
- Participate in quality management and continuous improvement initiatives, including QCP, QMP, technical reports, warranty claim management, and NCR.
- Maintain tool control: certification, calibration, inspection, and service arrangements.
- Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders, reviewing supplier performance.
- Prepare high‑quality technical reports and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Self‑starter, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Customer‑centric mindset and ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
- Adaptable to a multicultural work environment.
- Detail oriented, dynamic, persistent, and goal‑oriented.
