About the Role

The City of Tshwane seeks two experienced Lorry Drivers to support the Energy and Electricity section. You will be responsible for moving and removing materials, ensuring that vehicles and equipment are well maintained, and that safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Move and remove materials within the assigned area.
• Report to the superintendent daily.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in good working order, scheduling regular servicing.
• Ensure personnel use equipment correctly and efficiently.
• Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993).
• Conduct monthly inspections and attend health and safety meetings.
• Report any shortcomings or safety concerns immediately.
• Ensure working conditions are safe and that correct equipment is used.

Requirements

• Grade 10 matriculation.
• At least six months of relevant experience.
• Valid Code EC driving licence with a valid PrDP.
• Physical fitness and good health.
• Willingness and ability to relieve in similar positions as needed.
• Must undergo a criminal record check and provide fingerprints at own cost.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime and standby duties.
