Estimated Total Remuneration: R245 272 – R288 588 per annum
Job Purpose
This role supports a maintenance team in carrying out road-building and maintenance work throughout Region 3.
Qualifications & Experience
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Experience in road and storm‑water maintenance is an advantage
- Physical fitness and good health
- Must pass a criminal record check and be willing to provide fingerprints at the Tshwane Metro Police Department (cost of application by applicant)
- Willingly work shifts, overtime and on standby as required
Personal Attributes & Competencies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to operate small road maintenance equipment safely
- Team player with strong collaborative attitude
- Willing to complete an entry medical examination
Primary Functions
- Place road safety signs and control traffic as required
- Prepare sites for asphalt placement
- Excavate and lay road building materials
- Assist in fetching water and mixing construction materials
- Spray or paint emulsion on road surfaces
- Place and spread asphalt
- Clean work sites after completion
- Operate equipment safely according to training
