About the Role

Bombela Operating Company (PTY) LTD is looking for enthusiastic Customer Service Agents to work at the Gautrain station in Midrand. The role ensures a safe, reliable, and friendly travel experience for passengers through ticket sales, cash handling, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for passengers.
  • Sell tickets and manage cash transactions.
  • Verify ticket validity and refer complaints to Customer Service Operations.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety rules and station procedures.
  • Restart, control, and monitor station equipment and systems as per operational procedures.
  • Inspect station facilities—lighting, ticket vending machines, lifts, escalators—to ensure everything is functional.
  • Coordinate with cleaning contractors to maintain station cleanliness.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly.
  • Report incidents or situations that could affect passenger flow to the OCC Manager.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 with maths and/or accounting.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Basic computer skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to follow company procedures consistently.
  • Quick and calm response to emergency situations.

Job Details

Working hours: Full time, shift-based.
