Job Description

We need an assistant to support our production department with daily tasks. The role involves handling materials, running machines, monitoring quality, and keeping the workspace safe and organised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept and inspect products and raw materials from storage, then deliver them to the correct production area.
  • Ensure sufficient consumables such as platforms and boxes are available for each shift.
  • Operate the feeder to provide quality paper feed to the machine; troubleshoot any feeder problems.
  • Monitor ink levels, replenish when necessary, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Operate the cutting machine for boards, assist with change‑overs, and clean and strip the machine.
  • Report any process deviations according to company procedures.
  • Help balance product loads daily.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions and housekeeping standards.
  • Adopt safe work practices, identify hazards, and raise any risks to management.
  • Carry out ad‑hoc duties as required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We value experience but the ideal applicant may have:

  • Completed Grade 12 education.
  • Completed N3 Engineering or TT3 qualification.
  • One to two years of experience in printing or manufacturing (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic numeracy and literacy.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Strong listening skills.
