Purpose of the Role
The Delivery Driver Assistant supports our drivers in delivering products to customers accurately and on time. This role ensures proper documentation, helps manage invoices and payments, and maintains high standards of customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver in safely transporting and delivering products to customer locations.
- Present Proof of Delivery (POD) documents to customers and obtain signatures.
- Help complete invoice correction forms when necessary.
- Verify customer payments (cash or checks) following established procedures.
- Assist in loading and unloading products, following safety protocols.
- Provide courteous, professional interaction with customers and address minor concerns.
- Assist the driver in navigating delivery routes using maps or GPS and suggest optimisations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including documenting returned or damaged items.
- Keep the driver’s cab clean and organised.
- Safeguard stock during delivery and overnight routes.
- Ensure all delivery paperwork (PODs, invoices, receipts) is completed accurately.
- Follow safety guidelines, use PPE when required, and promote a safe work environment.
- Contribute to the team’s overall goals and success.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in warehousing or logistics, preferably in FMCG retail.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Friendly, helpful, confident yet humble; works well in a team.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, competitive environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
