Role Overview
You will be placed at either City Press or Daily Sun, working across the media division. Your day‑to‑day tasks will include:
- Producing news stories in text and video for Media24 platforms.
- Creating engaging short‑form video content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok).
- Assisting with uploading, scheduling and monitoring content.
- Researching and scouting the web for compelling stories that our audience will love.
- Helping to curate newsletters and manage small digital campaigns.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s or diploma in journalism, languages, politics, media studies, or a related field.
- A passion for storytelling in any format.
- Strong writing skills and an interest in digital media.
- Ability to produce short, engaging videos (over 20 seconds).
- Comfort shooting video with a smartphone.
- Curiosity about the world and its people.
- Eagerness to learn, grow and take on new challenges.
Specific skills we value:
- Excellent narrative skills in both text and video.
- Quick and efficient work under tight deadlines.
- Creativity – finding fresh angles and generating original ideas.
- Strong general knowledge.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Social media fluency across major platforms.
