About the Role
This learnership provides technical training and hands‑on experience with Sandvik products. You will be mentored by experienced technicians, managers and engineers. The programme exposes you to:
- Rock drilling, cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling and quarrying equipment
- Product application in real‑world mining and infrastructure projects
- Business processes and customer service within a leading global company
For mining engineers, the programme also offers the opportunity to obtain a Blasting Ticket (Surface or Underground) through partnership with industry role‑players. Mechanical, mechatronic and industrial engineers will gain a maintenance trade qualification, preparing them to advance from technician to technologist.
Key Responsibilities
As a learner you will:
- Observe and follow employment agreements or awards
- Attend and perform work as directed
- Conduct yourself in a courteous and professional manner
- Obey all lawful instructions
- Work towards achieving the competencies outlined in the training plan
- Undertake training and assessments as required
- Maintain a training record and produce it when required
Profile Required
- Mechatronic, Mechanical, Mining, Electrical or Industrial Engineering graduates
- Strong interest in Maintenance Engineering and operational excellence
- Willingness to get hands‑dirty and learn on the job
- Critical and analytical thinking skills
