About the Role

The Stock Controller will be responsible for managing the flow of goods into and out of the store. Your main tasks will include receiving deliveries, checking goods against invoices, and ensuring accurate stock records in the SAP system. You will also handle returns, maintain a neat store room and support other operational functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately accept deliveries and compare goods with invoices.
• Record received goods on the system in a timely manner.
• Verify that delivered items match invoiced quantities, variants and conditions.
• Process supplier returns following company SOPs.
• Keep the store room organised and in acceptable condition.
• Assist in managing high‑risk stock.
• Report any discrepancies to the manager.
• Handle undelivered or damaged goods – prepare credit notes as required.
• Assist other departments with operational tasks.
• Manually lift heavy boxes and unload pallets (job is labour intensive).

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a retail or FMCG store operations role.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of stock management principles and best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and other Office 365 applications.
• Familiarity with SAP inventory modules.
• Sound numeracy skills and clear communication.
