About the Role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies is looking for experienced cashiers to join our Hartbeespoort team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide friendly, efficient customer service at the point of sale, ensuring every shopper receives a professional and world‑class retail experience. You will accurately process transactions, uphold company policies, and help maintain a secure and efficient till operation.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• At least 6 months experience as a cashier or in till operations
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Strong numerical and accuracy skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Basic customer service knowledge
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, efficient customer service in line with Dis‑Chem policies
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers
• Handle customer payments, exchanges, and refunds accurately
• Process all payment methods, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and loyalty cards
• Adhere to operating and security procedures to minimise fraud and discrepancies
• Maintain confidentiality when handling daily cash takings
• Stay informed on promotions, sales, and store campaigns
• Report customer feedback to the Frontline Supervisor or Store Management
• Uphold 5‑star communication and customer service standards

Core Competencies

Essential:

• Proficient in operating cash registers and managing cash flow
• Detail‑oriented with strong accuracy and accountability
• Presentable, trustworthy, and emotionally intelligent
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities
• Good time management and social awareness

Advantageous:

• Ability to speak a third language
