Job Purpose
Deliver outstanding food and beverage service in our restaurant and banqueting areas while maintaining high internal standards and ensuring a memorable guest experience.
Key Performance Areas
Prepared Work Area
- Prepare mise‑en‑place, set up tables and perform all required checks before service.
- Set up and break down for functions in line with event requirements.
- Identify and report issues with floor appearance or equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of own station.
- Adhere to health, safety, hygiene and environmental regulations.
- Use and store operating equipment safely.
- Participate in stock takes.
- Report any anomalies and ensure resolution.
Service Execution
- Stay current on food products, trends and cooking methods relevant to our menu.
- Follow Food & Beverage SOPs at all times.
- Take accurate and timely guest orders and place them into the system.
- Explain menu items and make recommendations on food and beverages.
- Communicate special requests to kitchen staff respectfully.
- Deliver dishes to guests with proper presentation.
- Attend to guest requests promptly.
- Clear and reset tables after guests finish.
- Provide billing information when required.
- Conduct cash‐up at end of service where applicable.
- Seek upselling opportunities for promotional items.
Customer Engagement
- Greet guests warmly with a friendly smile and welcome.
- Provide professional service and assist with any queries.
- Identify repeat customers and understand their preferences.
- Educate guests on facilities, products, rewards programme and current promotions.
- Handle complaints, requests or suggestions and resolve or escalatae as needed.
Job Requirements
Education
Grade 12 completion.
Experience
At least 2 years of previous experience as a waiter/waitress.
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of food & beverage products.
- Food service fundamentals.
- Operating equipment use and care.
- Beverage service.
- Effective communication skills.
- Upselling techniques.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Cashiering skills.
Work Conditions & Special Requirements
- Ability to work required shifts.
- Physical ability to move operating equipment.
- Open to performing similar roles in other outlets if operational needs arise.
