Position Overview
We seek a professional Switchboard Operator to manage our telecommunications systems and serve as the first point of contact for public enquiries. This role requires excellent communication skills and thorough knowledge of RAF operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate multi-line switchboard systems efficiently
- Direct calls to appropriate departments/staff members
- Provide clear explanations of RAF services and claims procedures
- Advise callers on required documentation for claims submission
- Maintain accurate call logs and message records
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence in crisis situations
Essential Requirements
- Matric Certificate/Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- 1+ year experience in switchboard operations or call center environment
- Fluency in English (excellent verbal communication)
- Proficiency in additional official languages (advantageous)

Employment Details
This fixed-term position includes a comprehensive remuneration package structured as Total Employment Cost (TEC). Successful candidates will need to arrange their tax/Benefit allocations accordingly.
