A vacancy exists for a Store Manager in the retail sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and growing the profitability of the store.
Location: Mpumalanga
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 and a Commerce Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Preferably a Financial or Management Diploma
- 5 to 10 years of retail experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a junior to mid-level management position
- Previous experience in the timber, wood, and/or building materials industry
- Financial acumen
- Inwards and outwards logistics/procurement skills
- Merchandising principles
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the continuity, growth, and profitability of the store by managing costs and maximizing sales turnover and returns
- Identify new business opportunities and develop innovative ideas to implement them
- Collaborate with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager to create an operating plan for the store
- Oversee smooth inward logistics, ensuring products are purchased according to company policies and stock levels are optimized
- Maintain optimal stock levels and control stock losses
- Prepare and adhere to the store budget
- Monitor and control financial processes according to best practices
- Resolve customer complaints effectively
- Coordinate promotions, advertising, and public relations to enhance the brand’s market share
- Oversee day-to-day operations, administration, customer sales, service, and employee management
- Analyze operational information to identify problems or successes
- Motivate, guide, and develop employees to meet store objectives
- Ensure legal compliance with all relevant legislation
