A vacancy exists for a Junior Sales Representative at our client’s office in Durban (Durban CBD). Since the early 2000s, our client has been a leader in the wound care industry in South Africa, delivering exceptional service and support through a dedicated, well-trained national sales team. Their R&D team focuses on creating high-quality, advanced wound care products, primarily manufactured locally. They are now seeking a driven, ambitious, and organized Junior Sales Representative to join their dynamic team.
In this role, you will play a key part in promoting, growing, and securing market share for their innovative wound care products. You will build strong, ethical relationships with healthcare professionals and key institutions to drive sales growth in a professional manner.
Duties
Promoting Current and New Products
- Identify business opportunities to sell all products.
- Meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Demonstrate a consistent work methodology focused on achieving targets.
- Show a proven ability to grow new business in your territory.
- Maintain and expand existing accounts.
- Work responsibly in the field.
- Be goal-driven and a team player.
Management by Objectives
- Develop sound plans to achieve sales and marketing objectives.
- Take responsibility for following through on objectives.
- Demonstrate accountability for outputs and performance.
- Effectively manage your personal workload.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market insights in the company’s CRM system, providing regular feedback on business objectives.
Reporting
- Record daily sales activities, customer interactions, and market insights in the CRM system.
- Provide weekly progress reports.
- Prepare weekly planning schedules.
- Submit monthly forecasts in a timely manner.
- Attend all business meetings.
Administrative Tasks
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and by deadlines, including monthly planners, reports, leave forms, and expense claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date business records.
- Manage consignment stock and take ownership of stock signed out.
- Follow proper procedures when entering hospitals and institutions, adhering to security protocols for stock management.
- Complete weekly review and planning reports.
- Assist with tender completion when required.
Cooperation with Staff
- Build and manage business relationships.
- Provide excellent pre- and post-sales service.
- Maintain a client visit rate as directed by the National Sales Manager.
- Visit theatre management, CSSD, and procurement teams weekly to discuss new products, consignment stock, problem-solving, and value-adding suggestions, and to collect outstanding orders.
- Conduct yourself professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Post-matric or relevant qualification.
- Minimum experience: 1 – 2 years in a related field.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
