About the Role

Hyundai Automotive South Africa is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team. This role is central to our operations, focusing on the effective management and control of all inbound and outbound vehicle stock. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording, storage, and distribution of stock to meet the needs of our internal and external customers efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Process Management

• Accurately capture all stock data on the company system to guarantee stock availability for customers.
• Continuously monitor stock levels and place timely orders to ensure a consistent supply for customers, load body builders, and carriers.
• Control and safeguard all stock in strict accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform regular stock counts, ensure items are stored in their correct locations, and report any losses promptly to minimize wastage.
• Achieve agreed-upon performance targets by following set procedures and service level agreements.
• Maintain optimal stock levels to ensure availability for distribution to both internal and external customers.
• Execute all tasks in line with established governance and compliance processes.
• Identify and apply known solutions to operational challenges and escalate any unresolved issues to management.
• Record and report on all work activities to provide timely and accurate information for decision-making within the area of accountability.

Financial Efficiency

• Execute work activities effectively and efficiently to maximize productivity and reduce unnecessary delays in the stock distribution process.

Client Service

• Deliver services and products that foster a culture aimed at meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• Perform all work activities effectively to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Experience & Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
• A Certificate or Diploma in Inventory Management or Supply Chain is highly advantageous.
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar inventory or stock control environment.

Knowledge and Skills

• A strong client-focused approach.
• Proficient organizational skills and a solid understanding of inventory management principles.
• Ability to apply essential ethics and values in the workplace to support the business’s strategic intent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in using inventory management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
• Experience with the movement of vehicles (Passenger & Light Trucks).
• Knowledge of stock yard management processes.
• Experience performing vehicle damage checks for both inbound and outbound stock.
• Skills in using IMS software systems.
