Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. The primary purpose of this role is to safely operate an assigned Code 10 truck, conduct thorough pre-inspection checks to ensure vehicle roadworthiness, and ensure the accurate and timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will be a key representative of our company, providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts, and any incidents or accidents, in full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure professional and courteous communication with customers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders, promptly addressing any questions or concerns related to deliveries.
• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs for the assigned vehicle immediately to the appropriate personnel and follow company procedures for repairs.
• Adhere strictly to all company policies, including those related to vehicle operation, safety protocols, and the code of conduct.
• Comply with all relevant traffic laws and transportation regulations.
• Keep the assigned truck clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary equipment and documentation at all times.
• Follow safety guidelines meticulously and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risks.
• Help foster a safe working environment and promote overall safety compliance within the team.
• Operate the vehicle within all required safety standards.
• Attend and actively participate in team meetings, supporting the collective goals of the operation.
• Engage in coaching and training sessions as required.
• Contribute to the achievement of the team’s overall objectives and targets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar delivery driver role, preferably within the FMCG Retail industry.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with a PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
