Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Operator: Bulk is a vital role within our logistics team. The primary purpose is to ensure the efficient and safe handling of all inbound products. This includes offloading deliveries, accurately recording product information, and managing stock storage and rotation. The operator is crucial for maintaining inventory freshness, replenishing pick lines for order fulfillment, and upholding the highest standards of safety and equipment maintenance. This position is key to the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently offload all incoming products from inbound delivery vehicles.
• Record the age and details of all received items to ensure accurate inventory management and report any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
• Inspect all incoming products for correct quality, packaging, and labeling.
• Generate and apply accurate product labels to all relevant incoming pallets.
• Properly store and organize all inbound products in their designated warehouse locations.
• Continuously replenish pick lines with stock to ensure a seamless supply for the order fulfillment process.
• Implement and maintain strict stock rotation practices (FIFO – First In, First Out) to prevent product expiration or obsolescence.
• Perform regular inspections of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, electric pallet jacks) to ensure they are in safe working order.
• Promptly communicate any concerns regarding product damage, incorrect labeling, or packaging issues to the Warehouse Controller.
• Strictly adhere to all company safety guidelines and always use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Actively contribute to fostering a safe work environment and overall safety compliance within the warehouse.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve collective goals and targets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience of 1 to 3 years in a similar warehouse operator role.
• Experience within the FMCG Retail industry is highly preferred.
• A valid Electric Pallet Jack License is required.
• A valid Forklift License is required.
