About The Department

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs is offering a valuable internship opportunity for graduates. This role is based in Pretoria and focuses on developing skills within the public sector, specifically in the area of municipal capacity development.

Requirements

  • A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Development, Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
  • The qualification must be at NQF level 6/7 and recognized by SAQA.
  • A valid driver’s license.

What to Include in Your Application:

  • A completed and signed new Z83 form.
  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV must include:
    • Specific starting and ending dates for all previous positions.
    • Clear information on the levels and ranks pertaining to your experience.
    • Details of your current remuneration package.
    • At least 2 relevant and recent contactable references (your current supervisor is recommended).

Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be requested to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other documents on or before the interview date. Selection Process

All shortlisted candidates can expect to undergo a technical exercise designed to test relevant elements of the job. This may include follow-up engagements or a second round of interviews.

Following the interview and technical assessment, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment, as mandated by the DPSA. This assessment will test core managerial competencies using the official DPSA SMS competency assessment tools.

  • Knowledge management

Appointment Details

The successful candidate will be appointed subject to positive results from a pre-employment screening process. This screening includes criminal record checks, credit checks, citizenship verification, and verification of all educational qualifications.

The appointment will include a probation period of 12 months, and the candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.
