Job Description
Primary Purpose of the Job:
The primary purpose of this role is to assist with the repairs and maintenance of press machinery to ensure all customer and company quality standards are consistently met.
Key Performance Areas
- Assist skilled artisans with repairs and maintenance tasks on press machinery.
- Help perform preventative maintenance according to the maintenance schedule, job cards, and relevant work instructions.
- Compile and submit accurate feedback on timesheets to provide precise repair data for the Team Leader.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company procedures, work instructions, and quality systems at all times.
- Actively participate in the departmental mini-business initiatives as required by the company.
- Ensure all work practices comply with the company’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) procedures and work instructions.
Skills Required
- Technical techniques relevant to machinery maintenance.
- Understanding of press machinery repair and maintenance processes.
- Knowledge of general manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of quality systems and standards.
Minimum Requirements
- NQF Level 4 / Matric Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Fitter Assistant within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- An Artisan trade qualification will be a significant added advantage.
