About the Role

Ekurhuleni West TVET College is seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Hospitality Trainees to join our team at the Kempton Campus. This is an excellent internship opportunity for individuals who have recently completed their N6 studies in Hospitality and are eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic educational environment.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid N6 Hospitality Certificate.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be involved in a wide range of tasks to develop a comprehensive skill set in hospitality management. Duties will include:

• Order Management: Compiling and placing orders for kitchen and operational supplies.
• Stock Control: Conducting regular stock takes for both food items and equipment; managing stock keeping and issuing ingredients.
• Menu Planning: Assisting with nutrition and menu planning to ensure balanced and appealing meals.
• Academic Support: Assisting lecturers with practical class demonstrations for students.
• Food Preparation: Cooking meals for the on-site crèche.
• Supplier Relations: Liaising with suppliers and generating quotations.
• Event Planning: Assisting with or planning college functions and events.
• Safety Compliance: Keeping Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in the kitchen up to date and ensuring all kitchen Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) administration is current.
• Student Supervision: Supervising students during functions and restaurant service days.
