About the Role
Solenis is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for supporting our Procurement Team and internal stakeholders with various sourcing and procurement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong administrative skills, and have a foundational understanding of procurement processes. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update pricing for all procured items within the SAP system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Proactively follow up with vendors on a monthly and quarterly basis to obtain and verify updated pricing information.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support for BBBEE initiatives, including collecting vendor certificates, conducting follow-ups, and assisting with scorecard tracking.
- Assist business stakeholders with vendor onboarding, which includes liaising with legal teams to complete credit applications and gathering all necessary vendor documentation.
- Support the Procurement Manager and Analyst in price benchmarking activities and identifying cost-saving opportunities, a key performance indicator for the department.
- Aid in managing vendor invoice payments and reconciliations, and run weekly reports to identify and resolve any payment blocks.
- Collaborate with procurement and internal teams to develop, track, and maintain key procurement metrics, including Performance Indicators, benchmarking data, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Provide general procurement support for all related departmental activities as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP tools is highly advantageous.
- A relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and internal stakeholder liaison.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
