About the Role

AVBOB is seeking a customer-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic Debit Orders team. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Clerk and play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of our department. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all payment files are processed accurately, correctly, and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily correspondence and emails efficiently.
  • Accurately capture and process debit order authorization forms.
  • Print and dispatch letters and emails for all amendments processed.
  • Capture new bank account details and verify policyholder addresses and contact information.
  • Handle telephonic queries from clients and institutions, providing professional and helpful service.
  • Follow up diligently on non-payments to resolve issues promptly.
  • Process premium cancellations in a timely manner to prevent policies from lapsing.
  • Perform general office administration tasks, including cancellations, updates, and managing returned mail.
  • Work on daily lapse reports provided by the supervisor and take action to prevent policy lapses.
  • Compile and provide daily/weekly statistics and reports (e.g., post and schedules) to the Senior Clerk.
  • Provide general assistance and support to the Senior Clerk and team as required.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with policyholders, institutions, and life offices regarding query progress.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within the insurance industry.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel will be a significant advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
