Job Description
The Buyer II will execute buying plans for assigned categories, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and monitor market trends to adjust buying strategies. They will lead supplier relationship management, resolve complex issues, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The role also involves analyzing sales data to adjust buying plans and collaborating with the buying team to align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure a compelling, balanced merchandise range aligned with company strategy and the RFO trading model
- Monitor and respond to sales trends and stock performance using data insights
- Formulate departmental strategies to maximize sales and source stock to implement these strategies
- Deliver on financial KPIs and drive profitability through product efficiencies and innovation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Contribute to growth and profit through innovative ideas
- Travel as required
- Deliver a clear product strategy aligned with the store brand strategy
- Think strategically while paying attention to details
- Drive product efficiencies and key performance measures
- Assess complex situations and implement practical solutions

Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, Graduate Degree, or Post Graduate Degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Buyer
- Strong understanding of the clothing retail cycle and buying process
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Email
- Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in product development
- Strong negotiation skills
- Good analytical skills
- Understanding of value retail and stock buys
- Strong commercial acumen with an eye for product, price, and timing
- Essential experience in womenswear
