Trainee Driver Trainer

About the Role

We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our Driver Training Department as a Trainee Driver Trainer. Through hands-on mentorship and structured learning, you’ll develop the expertise to coach drivers, ensure safety compliance, and shape professional driving standards across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Development Support

• Assist senior trainers in conducting practical driving assessments and classroom sessions
• Help prepare training materials including route plans, evaluations, and safety briefings
• Participate in driver coaching sessions covering defensive driving and load management
• Support onboarding of new drivers through induction program assistance

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate electronic records of driver certifications and PrDP renewals
• Update TETA-aligned learner management systems with training progress data
• Help prepare audit-ready documentation for regulatory compliance

Operational Support

• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance monitoring
• Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis processes
• Support daily yard operations including vehicle dispatch coordination

Candidate Requirements

• Valid EC driver’s license with PrDP certification
• 3+ years accident-free professional driving experience
• Matric/Grade 12 certificate
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, fleet management systems)
• Physical ability to demonstrate vehicle inspections and driving techniques
• Availability for occasional weekend/evening training sessions
